Furniture & light design studio

Sculptural lighting, furniture & objects

An independent design studio exploring the relationship between materials, form and light.

A dialogue with material

Founded by designer Shay Hoffenbartel, the studio approaches materials as both a starting point and a source of inspiration.

Through experimentation, craftsmanship and an exploration of form, materials are transformed into sculptural lighting, furniture and objects that balance function and artistic expression.

About the studio
  • A sheet of pale wood veneer curling up from the workbench.
  • Two hands pressing a sheet of walnut veneer into a curved form.
  • A pale bent-wood piece in a soft wave, in front of a walnut column on the workbench.
